Everyone had a fabulous time at our June 2024 “sewcial” #quiltingandsewing event held at the beautiful Wahiawa Botanical Gardens in Wahiawa, Hawaii. The company was scintillating, the surroundings cool and verdant, and the project was challenging.
Our project was the Piecekeeper project bag that @ByAnnie generously let us use for our group. While not a “regular” #quilt it did have a quilted background. The most ambitious person was Connie, who actually made a mini quilt for the back. We found out the hard way, that the vinyl front (which we used instead of the mesh fabric) was by far the hardest to sew. After much trial and tribulation, we discovered that the easiest way to sew vinyl with our sewing machines was to use tissue paper under and above the vinyl. Unfortunately, who had tissue paper with them? Ellen to the rescue! Some of us also realized that you must read the instructions before proceeding with the cutting and sewing. It makes for a lot less pain and frustration!
Mahalo (thanks) again to @ByAnnie.com for the project and some of the supplies.
